Latitude Marine Services of La Connor, Washington has delivered the 86-foot by 25-foot landing craft Nordland II to San Juan Ferry & Barge for operation within the San Juan Islands. The new vessel is powered by twin John Deere engines rated at 285 hp each, driving 4-bladed 34-inch propellers through ZF reduction gears. A DMW Marine Group 1,600-lb knuckle boom deck crane serves the vessel's 75-foot by 23-foot cargo deck while an offset pilothouse allows longer loads and cargo overhang behind truck axles.

The new boat was built to the same design as the company's 2003-built M/V Henry Island, by the same builder, but with an added 4 feet of length.

San Juan Ferry & Barge has been providing charter landing craft freight, passenger and vehicle transport services throughout Washington state's San Juan Islands since 1976.
